School and Work Program in Taiwan Testimony
So this time, I'm gonna talk about the schooling program in Taiwan that I joined for last at least 5 months. This program is for 3 years and it contains full working for 3 months per semester. Also, this program is only for Chinese descent, from Southeast Asia, like, Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand. This
program is available for someone between 16 until 23 years old, and
there's so many major on this program like, electro, some techniques,
cooking, cosmetology and etc.
This school-working program, I believe has been going over 5 years. And that's why there's so many alumni from this program. But for cosmetology, they just open it last year. Most of the alumni they stay for another 4 years for higher education and also working in a same major. And what makes this program is very popular among the Chinese descent from Southeast Asia is because when you working you can get NT$22000 or IDR 9.900.000 (rate 450) or more per month.
That
amount of money is such a huge nominal in most of Southeast Asia
country, In Indonesia even someone with bachelor degree can't get amount
of money if they working for a month. The school fee is also pretty
cheap, because the government obligation, for a foreigner student I
believe the school fee has to be around NT$ 30,000 per semester.
The government also give financial relief for every foreigner student that join this program NT$ 17,000 per semester. We can also get a student loan up to NT$80,000. This is also one of the reason why so many people interest in this program, they could try to be independent by themselves and not asking their parents for more money.
I join the cosmetology department, which is including, skincare,
make up, health but mostly is about beauty hair. Which lead me as a
cosmetology student to have an internship in a beauty salon. I join
school name Shute, located in Sanmin District, Kaohsiung. Taiwanese said this Shute school is one of the best vacational school in Kaohsiung. Also one of the best cosmetology school in Taiwan.
So, this is my testimony. First, the school life. You will have to arrive around end of July, even the school starts on September. I was late and arrive in Kaohsiung on 3rd August, and there's some people that also more late than me, but well, it's actually fine, just, you will miss the tour that the school arrange. You will also miss some of the lesson that could make you work first.
